Hello Everyone,
I have been reading this fascinating book “ Work Won‘t Love You Back” it is all about labor. How and why we work and how certain industries respond to labor. As most of you know, I have been doing a lot of career coaching and the thing that I have to remind clients is that work has a place but it shouldn’t totally consume our lives.
I say, are you aware that work won‘t love you back because it is not designed to. We have to place work in it’s proper place. In America, all we do is work, talk about work, live at work, think about work, celebrate work, and die at work. We are not designed to be machines. We are human.
Humans need touch, meaning, purpose, intimacy, rest, laughter love and connection. Work is not designed to provide those. Yes, work has some meaning but I’m talking deeper meaning. Life sustaining meaning.
Today, you get to define your life outside of work. What meaning does your life hold without work? Is it still valuable? Who are you without work?
Take a moment and rediscover yourselves without work being centered.
Last thing, do not forget, I address this in my new course “ Leveling Up.” You can take a sample course for free! Just click the button below and it is yours.
Talk soon,
David
